Authorities shut down the factory in Lisburn, Ireland, after their machines stopped working due to severe clogging issue.
BBC reports that police officials are doing a thorough investigation on the subject, as they suspect of potential contamination of a consignment shipment.
“Detectives are investigating an incident at commercial premises in the Lisburn area following reports that a consignment of containers delivered to the premises had been contaminated,” explained a spokesman for the Police Service in Northern Ireland.
The country gets these cans from Germany, and they come packed without their tops. They are then filled with Coke, and sold to people.
“It was absolutely horrible, and the machines had to be turned off for about 15 hours to be cleaned,” another source revealed for the Belfast Telegraph. “It was unusual because normally the cans come from somewhere else in the UK, but this time they apparently came from Germany.”
“The rumour is that some poor immigrants could have made that long journey in the lorry and that in their desperation were forced to use the cans instead of a toilet.”
“It’s really shocking – and beyond the shock of finding something pretty disgusting in the cans is the thought there could have been poor people in that situation. And if they did make that journey, where are they now?”
Alliance councilor Amanda Grehan was one of the officials who were devastated to learn the disgusting truth. In her interview for the Telegraph, Grehan expressed her opinion over the incident. “That’s really shocking, and if the drinks cans were to get out into shops then it could be extremely dangerous for people,” the councilor said.

Bananas are an excellent source of vitamin B6, and their dietary fiber reduce blood pressure and risk of heart disease.
Knowing the usefulness of this fruit, one girl from New York wanted to take in a banana imported from Costa Rica, but she noted cocoon, apparently temporary home of a female spider that had laid eggs.
What kind of spider it is, she has not determined yet, but there is a rumor on the Internet that it is a Brazilian spider-bum, one of the most dangerous in the world. In addition, look at the video.
Almost a third of our lifetime is spent on sleeping. When you think about it, you realize how important the sleeping process is for the entire health.
When it comes to sleeping, the position you sleep in is the most important thing. As the experts assure us, only some positions are recommended for improving your health, so pay attention.
Here is how you can tell which position is bad for you:
Shoulder pain: if you are experiencing shoulder pain, you should avoid sleeping on the left or right side. Sleeping on your stomach can cause shoulder asymmetry as well. In order to protect your shoulder sit is best to sleep on your back.
Use orthopedic pillow and use an extra pillow to hold with your hands. If sleeping on your back is problematic for you, sleep on your most comfortable side, but not if that’s the side that’s causing the pain.
Draw your legs upwards and set a pillow between your knees. Try not to place the hand under your head.
Back pain: Back pain usually comes as a result of poor quality mattress. Since this is the most recommended position, it shouldn’t give you pain, but if it does, you ought to switch things up. Place a pillow under your knees to posture the spine in a better position and reduce tendons tension.
Also you can place a small wrapped towel under the spine to support your body. If your favorite sleeping position is on the stomach, place a pillow under the belly and pelvis. In case you sleep on your side, draw legs upwards to the chest and curve the back slightly.
Neck pain: take a pillow and place both hands with it under your head. In case you sleep on the side, the pillow should be flat.
When you sleep on your stomach, get a thin pillow. Still, try to switch up positions while sleeping so you avoid more pain.
You cannot fall asleep: get rid of all technology, such as phones and TV before sleeping. Steer clear of caffeine, alcohol, energetic and soda drinks, black tea, and chocolate for 6 hours before going to sleep.
Mind the room temperature. In best temperature to sleep in is around 20 and 22 degrees Celsius. To improve circulation, exercise in the mornings.
You cannot wake up in the morning: make sure to wake up at the same time every day, and don’t interrupt this cycle.
Snoring: don’t sleep on your stomach if you snore, since you can interrupt the normal breathing process. Use harder pillows, or sleep on two softer pillows.
Snoring is actually relieved if you sleep on your side, because the breathing process is not interfered by anything.
Leg pain: cramps and spasms can be caused during sleep, and can affect the leg, feet, or thighs. To treat this problem, consult your doctor first. The best way to help yourself in this case is to stretch your legs and tighten the muscles.
Leg pain and cramps and heartburn: if you are suffering from heartburn, try sleeping on the left side. If are suffering from leg cramps as a result of weak circulation, place a pillow under your legs so they come up higher.
Massage your legs before sleeping and don’t consume caffeine-based drinks at least 6 hours before going to sleep.
This new deadly disease it’s called Leishmaniasis, also known as leishmaniosis and it is very common in Syria and the Middle East.
No matter if it’s not common in the west, we need to be very careful because the main carriers are the dogs. This disease can cause open wounds, nose bleeding, difficulty swallowing and breathing.
It can also be transmitted by ticks, but the main route is from dogs to humans. It is not spreading from human to human., but it can happen theoretically through blood transfusion.
This disease is treatable, but the treatment is long and difficult.
New Delhi has started selling milk from cow urine India, the rate of Rs 80 per liter of urine. Modi government has spent five billion and eight billion on the construction of enclosures for cattle in the past two years and the fact that the deadly disease with the use of urine in India is expanding.

South Carolina honey bees have begun to die in massive numbers.Death of the areas bees has come suddenly to Dorchester County, S.C. Stressed insects tried to flee their nests, only to surrender in little clumps at the hive entrances. Dead worker bees littering the farms suggested that 'colony collapse disorder' was not the culprit.
In colony collapse disorder, workers vanish as though raptured, leaving a living queen and young bees behind.
Instead, the dead heaps in S.C signal a more devastating killer. The pattern matches acute pesticide poisoning. By one estimate, at a single Bee Farm in Summerville, 46 hives died on the spot, totaling around 2.5 million bees.
Walking through the farm, one Summerville woman stated it was “like visiting a cemetery, pure sadness.”
A Clemson University scientist collected soil samples from Flowertown on Tuesday, according to WCBD-TV.
The bee farmers have a clear opinion. Their bees had been poisoned by Dorchester’s own insecticide efforts, casualties in the war on disease-carrying mosquitoes.
On Sunday morning, parts of Dorchester County were sprayed with Naled, a common insecticide that kills mosquitoes on contact. The United States began using Naled in 1959, according to the Environmental Protection Agency, which notes that the chemical dissipates so quickly it is not a hazard to people. That said, human exposure to Naled during spraying “should not occur.”
Trucks trailing pesticide clouds are not an unusual sight in S.C. This is thanks to a mosquito-control program that includes destroying the insects larvae. Given the current concerns of Zika virus, Dorchester decided to try something different.
It marked a departure from Dorchester County’s usual ground-based efforts. For the first time, an airplane dispensed the pesticide in a fine mist between 6:30 a.m. and 8:30 a.m. on Sunday.
The county says it provided plenty of warning, spreading word about the pesticide plane via a newspaper announcement Friday and a Facebook post Saturday.

Local beekeepers felt differently.
“Had I known, I would have been camping on the steps doing whatever I had to do screaming, ‘No you can’t do this,'” beekeeper Juanita Stanley said in an interview with Charleston’s WCSC-TV. Stanley told the Charleston Post and Courier that the bees are her income, but she is more devastated by the loss of the bees than her honey.
The county acknowledged the bee deaths Tuesday. “Dorchester County is aware that some beekeepers in the area that was sprayed on Sunday lost their beehives,” Jason Ward, county administrator, said in a news release. He added, according to the Charleston Post and Courier, “I am not pleased that so many bees were killed.”
Spraying pesticides from the air is not uncommon, particularly when you are covering a large area. In a single year in Florida, more than 6 million acres were sprayed with the chemicals, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. The agency argued in January that the technique should be used to curb Zika in Puerto Rico.
This particular pesticide cannot discriminate between honey bees and mosquitos. A profile of the chemical in Cornell University’s pesticide database warned that “Naled is highly toxic to bees.”
Summerville resident Andrew Macke noted that the hot weather had left the bees particularly exposed. Once temperatures exceed 90 degrees, bees may exit the nest to cool down in what is called a beard, clustering on the outside of the hive in a ball. Neither Macke nor Stanley had covered their hives.
And then came the plane...
“They passed right over the trees three times,” Stanley said to ABC 4 News. After the plane left, the familiar buzzing stopped. The silence in its wake was like a morgue, she said.
As for the dead bees, as Stanley told the AP, her farm “looks like it’s been nuked.”
In a world driven by industry and profit, there is one country leading the way in promoting happiness, family values and pushing the idea of a monetised society out of their way of lives.
This is a familiar site across the stunning Kingdom of Bhutan. Smiling school children, happy families and positive energies being shared among one another. With one of the worlds smallest and least developed economies, yet with happiness rates rising to over 91% among its residents, it is clear to see that money definitely does not buy you happiness.
In 2012, a high level UN meeting took place on “Happiness and Well-being” which was chaired by the Prime Minister of Bhutan, Jigme Thinley. This resulted in him declaring gross national happiness (GNH) as the country’s new development plan as opposed to the gross domestic product (GDP), making Bhutan the first and so far only nation to make this transition. He said:
“I think it is the responsibility of governments, upon having been elected and made responsible for improving the well-being of the people, to create conditions to enable citizens to achieve what they want most in life, and that is happiness.” [Source]
This is exactly what the idea of democracy is supposed to represent and this needs to be recognised a lot more around the world in order to create a global society where its dwellers are seeking contentment over finance, truth over corruption and compassion over competition. GNH reflects a much richer goal than GDP, this is not to say that material wealth is not important, but puts more emphasis on the need for things like:
- Health
- Spirituality
- Community
- Culture
- Harmony with the environment
- Knowledge and wisdom
- Psychological well-being
- Balancing use of time effectively
So far the idea seems to be working and the rise in gross national happiness across Bhutan has also given way to a small rise in its economy, where their ultimate goal is to fully invest inhydroelectric energy.
This is a fantastic example of a democratic society where the potential of every resident is recognised and allowed to flourish, if only more countries could take a leaf out of Bhutan’s book…the world would genuinely be a better, happier, cleaner place.
The holiday season is here!
Christmas is a time of celebration. Whether it be getting together with family and friends, celebrating a finished project at work or school, participating in a religious holiday or simply taking some time out - most of us look forward to December all year long.
December isn’t called the “Silly Season” for no reason. We typically like to eat more, drink more, party harder and change up our workout routine.
We’ve come across 5 fun facts about our Christmas habits that may surprise you.
1. We Eat More Chocolate
Chocolate is an easy gift. Whether it’s a last minute Secret Santa present or a stocking stuffer, chocolate seems to be the go-to gift when buying for someone. In Australia, chocolate sales increase a whopping 8 percent at Christmas time. That might not sound like much, but that’s an increase of USD$3.2 million!
The healthy alternative: Raw treats! Either make your friends and family some raw goodies using cacao or purchase some healthier options. Raw chocolate is often a lot more bitter, meaning you eat less of it. Making homemade treats for someone is also a super special gift.
2. The Numbers On The Scale Increase
Did you know that the average person gains between 0.8-1.5kg (1.7-3.3lb) over the Christmas and New Year period? According to the British Dietetic Association, the average person consumes approximately 6,000 calories on Christmas Day. This is almost 3 times as much as we would consume on any other given day. Leading up to Christmas however, we consume an additional 500 calories when attending parties and other celebrations.
While we are not here to promote restriction or deprive you of the foods you love, it is important to remember to take care of our bodies. In order to feel our best, we must eat foods that nourish and energize us.
The healthy alternative: If you’re told to bring a plate of food to a party, be the one to bring the healthy option. That way you know for sure that there will be something for you to enjoy, and you can still be involved in the action.
3. We Like To Raise Our Glass
Having a drink (or 2 or 3) over the holidays isn’t uncommon. Did you know that alcohol consumption increases by a staggering 40 percent in Britain at Christmas time? Caving in to peer pressure, freely letting loose, or simply enjoying a drink is completely a personal choice. If your goal is to reduce your alcohol consumption this Christmas, the good news is that you do have other options.
The healthy alternative: Want to still get involved in the party but not keen on guzzling too many drinks? Alternate your alcoholic beverages with water or make one of these healthier mocktails.
4. We Throw A Lot Of Food Out
Do you find the days (and sometimes weeks!) following Christmas day have a lot of leftover food? Sadly, the equivalent of 4.2 million dinners were thrown in the bin just in the U.K alone last year. Image what this looks like on a global scale! Scary, right?!
A more sustainable alternative: Plan, plan, plan!! Sit down and think about how much food you realistically need to feed your guests. Buying only what’s needed or reducing portion sizes will both save money and reduce food wastage.
5. Surprisingly, We Exercise More
31% more to be exact! Given the fact that we are indulging more, our motivation to exercise also increases. Whether it’s to keep your waistline in check, increase or maintain strength and flexibility, or simply clear your mind, exercise is vital to our overall health.
Exercise tip: Exercise is beneficial for your mental health, too. The holiday season can be stressful, so be sure to include exercise a couple of times per week to increase serotonin production (i.e. the feel-good, happy hormones!)

Imagine losing control of your car and waking up in the hospital paralyzed from the neck down. This is the story of Kristopher Boesen, who experienced a life-changing moment where his car spiraled out of control on a slippy road surface, slamming into a tree and lamp post. Doctors warned Kris’s parents that he might never be able to function from the neck down again.
The Procedure
Kris was offered the opportunity to go through a potentially life-changing procedure involving stem cells, which ‘have the capability to repair injured nervous tissue through replacement of damaged cells‘ . The experimental procedure did not guarantee any restoration to Kris’s paralysis, but to him, the risk was worth taking.
The process began in April where Dr. Liu injected 10 million AST-OPC1 cells directly into Kris’ cervical spinal cord. Dr. Liu explains that; “Typically, spinal cord injury patients undergo surgery that stabilizes the spine but does very little to restore motor or sensory function. With this study, we are testing procedure that may improve neurological function, which could mean the difference between being permanently paralyzed and being able to use one’s arms and hands. Restoring that level of function could significantly improve the daily lives of patients with severe spinal injuries.”
The Results
After a mere 3 weeks of therapy, Kris started showing signs of improvement, and within 2 months he could answer the phone, write his name and operate a wheelchair. He had regained significant improvement in his motor functions; which are the transmissions of messages from the brain to muscle groups to create movement .
Kris recovered two spinal chord levels which made a huge difference in his movement abilities. It was the difference between minimal movement or none at all and being able to function on his own. Kris regained the incredibly important aspect of independence.
After seeing the results of stem cell therapy, Kris was bowled over, saying; “All I’ve wanted from the beginning was a fighting chance…But if there’s an opportunity for me to walk again, then heck yeah! I want to do anything possible to do that.”
The Future
Although doctors are not able to make any promises that Kris’s condition will further improve, they can keep experimenting with stem cell research to try and improve the likelihood of it working fully on paralysis.
So far, they have made huge steps forward and will hopefully continue to do so in their quest to solve paralysis, by teaming up with ‘associate faculty based in departments across KSOM and the University to study stem cell-driven new medicine‘, Dr. Liu and his team at USC are determined to keep researching stem cells and much more!
Stem cell research is ongoing and can be used in many ways other than paralysis; from Parkinson’s and diabetes to cancer . To find the latest news regarding stem cell research check this website out.

Bees make honey from the flower nectar and they use tube-shaped tongues in order to extract and store it in their second stomach. It mixes with enzymes there and then the substance is passed on to other bees in a digestive assembly line until the last bee deposits the honey into the honeycomb. The bees fan the honeycomb with their wings until the excess water evaporates. Then the honeycomb is sealed with a substance which hardens – beeswax.
Honey is bee’s food source. It is almost 80% natural sugar and 18% water, while the remaining 2% are vitamins and minerals, pollen, and protein. The sugar it contains is not bad for you when consumed in moderate amounts. It is quite healthy due to its vitamins and minerals.
The benefits of consuming honey:
